Venue Sizes

We can adapt our games for hire to suit any sized venue and any type of event!

COSY, SMALLER VENUES

CASE STUDY OF: ABBEY MILL, WINCHESTER

With this particular event venue, we worked from a walk-around video provided by Abbey Mill.  We then used images and measurements to enable us to design a layout map of game locations.  We had to factor in the size of our games along with the space required for best game play.  The client really wanted our Premium Crazy Golf course as there were avid golfers attending the event.  In order to give them the best experience of our Premium Crazy Golf we made changes to our obstacle and base layout.

  • Beautiful location and venue with multiple room options to suit all types of events and occasions

  • Delicious food – Served fresh from one of our food truck vendors, this is the perfect choice for couple who prefer a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. Guests can collect their food street-food style and enjoy the freedom to eat, chat and celebrate at their own pace.

  • Super Staff – friendly, professional, helpful and fun – The people behind Abbey Mill are what make it special. From the friendly faces who welcome you through the door to the team quietly keeping everything running behind the scenes, everyone plays a part in creating the atmosphere our members and guests enjoy every day. We’re a small team with a shared passion for hospitality, community, and making Abbey Mill a place people genuinely enjoy spending time in.

Examples of Events that took place in smaller venues:

OVERCOMING DIFFICULTIES through planning, discussions with the client  and logistical expertise

  • We start with a video or images of the venue to check viability of the site.

  • If required or helpful for our logistics, we will visit the site in person.

  • For larger events, such as Christmas Winter Wonderlands or a large Village Fete etc, we are typically provided with plans, maps and images that have been created by our clients.  For smaller events, we will chat through ideas with our client and may, if helpful, sketch or use computer software to create a plan of the venue, noting fire exits, doorways, seating and objects that cannot be moved.  This gives the client an idea of how games will work in the space provided – ideal for intimate wedding venues, smaller special occasions etc.  We also can happily provide various PDF’s to demonstrate our games hired at similar events or venues.

  • With the event intention in mind, we propose a plan of where our hired games can be situated, based on our known measurements of the actual games and the space required to enjoy playing them.

  • We liaise with the client by phone or email until both parties are happy.  Then the booking can be confirmed!

Previous events showcasing the different types of venues and event spaces:

Previous events where images, maps and plans have been provided to assist with booking logistics:

Listen – We are always attentive to the vision and purpose of an event.  It is natural to assume every event wants to offer fun and memories, but a huge number have alternative aims such as…encouraging people to network and mingle, advertising an aspect of a business, launching a new product or service, raising money for a charity or community, allowing for competition and team building…and much more!

Advise – From our years of professional and practical experience, we can happily advise of the best games to suit the type of event at hand.  With the client’s vision always at the forefront, we can ensure that the games hired from us look the best, suit the venue and appeal to the age range and event purpose.

Adapt – Our expertise also lies in logistics.  With the aid of images, videos and measurements, we can research and plan the position of our hired games to fulfill the venue spacing and vision.  We take into account access to the venues, height of roof, steps, flow of guests, location of other event elements, room for spectators etc – the list is long but experience has taught us that these variables are super important to get the best out of your event.

Using a video and imagery to set out for a recent Council Summer Event:

Using photographs of the proposed outdoor venue for a Council’s Christmas Market event – from these, we could plan the location of each Christmas element available for hire.

LARGER VENUES

You might think that the larger the venue, the easier it is for us to set up.  It may surprise you to know that this isn’t always the case!

  • Space – you need to make sure that the hired games fill the space provided in the best way possible – they need to look great and allow for optimum game play

  • Aesthetics – a lot of care goes into the layout, particularly for our ever popular Standard and Premium Crazy Golf.  Bunting helps us to set out the course, as well as adding a fantastic vibrancy and feel to the event.

  • Ambience – how we position and set out our hired games has an impact on the rest of the event.  If children are present for a family day event, then parents and guardians want them to play freely within their eyesight.  If the event is to encourage staff to mix and mingle, then the spacing of the games hired is important to encourage movement and flow.  If there is a marquee present, the games need to enhance that visual space.  We are there for entertainment, not to overshadow the other carefully thought out features of any event.

  • Aesthetics – our games are hired for fun and play, but they must look good for photographs.  A huge majority of events are captured in videos and photos, which are then shared on social media.  We need to look our best as the quality of our games and the professionalism of set up will be seen by all.  We value these opportunities, especially since a lot of our repeat customers came from word of mouth recommendations after previous successful events.  We pride ourselves on this fact!

INDOOR VERSUS OUTDOOR

Which is best?

ACTUALLY BOTH!

INDOOR EVENTS

  • Safe from the British weather, whether too hot, too cold or too wet!

  • Cosy, intimate feel for events.

  • Carefully chosen selection of games for hire according to space available and maximum play value.

OUTDOOR EVENTS

  • Ample space offers scope for larger crowds and guests – great for fundraising and larger community events.

  • Easy to add a more varied choice of games for hire which can cater well for all ages and abilities.

  • Easier to add aesthetic touches such as bunting to add to fete feel.

“Whatever issue came up, TGH amended, adapted and eased our worries – we had an amazing event with everyone loving the games we hired – all of which fitted and flowed through our event perfectly.”

“Thanks for this, really helpful- do you have a similar PDF for the standard one? We definitely like the products so just need to pick which is worth it- I’m a bit worried the premium may be too hard for 6 year olds!”

“Would it be possible for you to send me a few options?”

“I am loving this, thank you.  I have sent your email over to my director and just waiting for the go ahead and date.”

“Thanks for responding, I’m glad Charlotte has been helpful. Hopefully we can do our best with the space and fit in what we can.”

“Here’s a video of the idea I’ve had about the other bit of outdoor space that we could possibly utilise. This area is open 10-4 as a public café but as the wedding is in the evening it will be available to use, so let me know if it’s any help at all.”

“Lovely to chat to you. I thought a video might be easier to show the two areas. The Aquarium room looks very full but we will be moving the table football and tables & chairs. The sofas will have to stay in the room but we can move them around the edge.  Let me know if there’s anything else you need.”
